The Story Begins

Dear Baby:

I have always felt compelled to introduce myself when first writing to someone that I have never met. Somehow, that doesn't seem fitting in this case. I have never met you, but doing so will be one of the greatest moments of my life.

It's been over three weeks since the fateful positive, three weeks since the day your daddy and I went to Target to buy at least four different brands of tests to make sure you were really, truly there. Three weeks since we knelt together to pray, thankful for Clearblue's digital test with its reassuring one-word pronouncement, smiling and laughing our disbelief and just beginning to dare to hope. Another positive at the doctor's, seven tubes of blood and so many Dixie cups in the bathroom later, and our excitement to see you was officially born.
